Questions homeowners ask about consultations

What does an arborist do?

An arborist is trained in how trees grow, fail, and heal. That means diagnosing disease, judging structural risk, pruning to standard, and knowing when a tree genuinely needs to come down versus when someone just wants to sell you a removal. I have been doing this work since 2006.

How do I know if a tree is a hazard?

The warning signs I look for: a new or increasing lean, dead limbs over places people use, mushrooms or conks at the base, cracks where big limbs meet the trunk, and lifted soil around the roots. Any of those near a house, driveway, or play area is worth an assessment.

Do you provide tree reports for real estate or permits?

Yes. I write plain-language assessments homeowners use for real estate transactions, town permit questions, and insurance conversations. You get what the tree actually needs on paper, from someone who walked the property.
